Nearly one-fourth of the bones in our bodies are in our feet. Each foot is made up of 26 bones, 30 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments, all of which work together to provide support, balance and mobility. (1)
Potential foot problems:
Plantar Fasciitis - a sheath of tendon runs the length of your foot, and when the ankle tightens, or the heel shifts out of alignment, it pulls that tendon tight. Any stepping you do on a tight tendon is going to be painful! Frequently, the fascia tightens when the heel bone (calcaneus) shifts out of place. Or, the Achilles tendon tightens, which pulls on the plantar fascia. A simple adjustment to the bones of the ankle and foot will allow the tendons to relax and take away the tightness across the arch.
